East Central University is gearing up for the 102nd Interscholastic Meet held on campus. The event, on hold due to Covid, will return on Nov. 3, with hundreds of students from various high schools in attendance.

“It’s wonderful to see one of the longest-running interscholastic meets in Oklahoma returning to campus,” said ECU President Wendell Godwin. “This is a great opportunity for the area’s best high school students to explore our campus and engage with our faculty.”

The academic competitions will begin at 9 a.m., with two more scheduled test times at 10 and 11 a.m. The tests range from Algebra to Shakespeare to Choices in Wellness and Television Broadcasting.

The competition also includes an art category. Students submit work digitally, then winners will bring their work to ECU to be displayed in the Lockmiller Lobby of Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

Awards will be presented at 1 p.m. inside the Ataloa Theatre for first, second, and third places, and up to four honorable mentions. The presentations are expected to be finished by 2 p.m.

Tours of ECU campus will be available at 11 a.m. for interested students.
