ADA, Okla. – More than 325 East Central University students are preparing for graduation on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. in the Kerr Activities Center.

Paula Kedy, ECU’s 2023 Distinguished Alumna, will be the keynote speaker. Kedy currently serves as the Statewide Aerospace STEM Education Manager for the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics where she works with school districts, universities, and industry leaders in the developments of aviation STEM programming designed to prepare students for careers in the aerospace industry.

Kedy graduated from ECU in 1976 where she served as in student government and in leadership positions across campus.

In 2004, Kedy was named the Oklahoma Supreme Court Teacher of the Year. Early in her career she was named the Moore West Mid-High Teacher of the Year, the Ada City School District Teacher of the Year Award and was named a semi-finalist for Oklahoma Teacher of the Year. She also served as the President of the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of English. Kedy joined the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics in 2020.
