William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet will be presented by the East Central University Theatre Department, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 13-14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dorothy I. Summers Theatre.

The familiar story is about the long feud between the Montague and Capulet families. The feud cases tragic results for the two main characters in the play, Romeo and Juliet. Hatred, revenge with love and a secret marriage lead to the young star-crossed lovers growing up early and dying tragically.

The production is being directed by Vickie Reifsnider. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Rudy Lupinski.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $9 for senior citizens and non-ECU students. ECU alumni receive a $1 discount. Those in grades 7-12 can attend for $7 and children 12 and under are $5. Admission is free for all ECU students, faculty and staff with ECU identification.

Tickets may be purchased three ways – by phone at 580-559-5751; online at ecok.edu/Fine Arts or at the box office in the David A. and Alma R. Lockmiller Grand Lobby of the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Performances for school students will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 11-12, at 10 a.m. Those teachers interested in bringing students at a discount price can call Reifsnider at 580-559-5878.

John Luke Garber, of Ada, will play the part of Romeo while Shelby Davis, also of Ada, will portray Juliet.

Other cast members include: Malik Sharp, of Shawnee, as Prince Escalus; Shan Scroggins, of Ada, as Lord Montague; Annabelle Elliot, Ada, as Lady Montague; Jace Westmoland, Ada, as Benvolio; Logan Bennett, Madill, as Balthazar; Travis Henry, Stratford, as Abram; Steven Davidson, Ada, as Blacksmith/Night Watchman; Keegan Buckaloo, Sallisaw, as Paris; Philip Newcomer, Ada, as Mercutio and Leah White, Davis, as Queen Mabs (Fairy).

The Dancing Fairies in the dream Scene/citizens/servers in the fight scene include: Taylor Packwood, of Shawnee; Phoebe Perkins, Shawnee; Summer Pearce, Glenpool and Courtney Fleming, LaQuinta, Texas.

Dylan Davidson, of Coalgate, will portray Lord Capulet and Tabitha Carr, of Winnsboro, Texas, will play Lady Capulet. Additional cast members include: Margie Beck, Redlands,

California, as the Nurse; Bailey Posey, Konawa, as Peter; Bessie-Mei-Soh, Stratford, as

Servingman; Juan Oseguera, Ada, as Tybalt; Eddie Power, Ada, as Petruchio; Shelby Stinson, Poteau, as Rosaline; Sam Baker, Ada, as Sampson, and Andrew O’Neal, Ardmore, as Gregory.

Maidens in the opening scene and servants in the party scene include: Isabella Roan, of Garland, Texas; Vanessa Hilton, Owasso; Ashley Huchin, Ardmore; Aubrie Cram, Sulphur; Teresa White, Ada; Megan Green, Ardmore; Emily Ross, Lawton and Carolyn Stephens, Sulphur.
