Summer classes started at East Central University on May 31, but it’s not too late to sign up. Students can add summer courses until Monday, June 6.

While summertime for students usually means taking a break, vacations, or a summer job, summertime can also mean a time to catch up on some credit hours.

“Summer school can be ideal for students,” said Ashlee Heck, director of Admissions and Recruitment. “It gives the student a chance to catch up, graduate early, or allow flexibility for course loads in the regular spring or fall semesters.”

Depending on the course offerings, some of the courses are offered online, allowing even more flexibility.

This summer, various courses are offered in business and business ethics, computer accounting applications, Native American studies, art, biology, microbiology, genetics, human physiology, chemistry, computer science, software design, criminal justice, macroeconomics, educational courses, environmental health sciences, freshman composition, financial literacy courses, earth science, history, Professional Programs in Human Resources, kinesiology, library science, math, marketing, nursing, political science, psychology, social work, and Spanish. For a full list of courses offered, visit ecok.edu/academics/course-schedule. Current students can enroll through Colleague Self-Service. If someone hasn’t applied to the University yet, they can do so at ecok.edu/apply.
