ADA, Okla. – After a multi-year hiatus, East Central University proudly announces the return of Tiger Tangles on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Ataloa Theatre located inside the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

Tiger Tangles is a talent show featuring ECU students. For this year’s show, students will compete in four categories: Greek Group Act, Club/Organization Act, Independent Group Act and Solo Act. Cash prizes will be given to the top three places for each category, with the overall winner and crowd choice winner receiving an additional $500 each.

“As a student who graduated here in 1984, Tiger Tangles was one of those events on this campus that brought back some of the fondest memories I had of my time at ECU,” said ECU President Wendell Godwin. “It’s a great competition for our students and a fun way for them to come together outside of the classroom.”

A long-standing tradition at ECU, Tiger Tangles traces its origins as far back as the 1950’s under different names. It was rechristened with the title Tiger Tangles in the early 1960’s and quickly became a cherished staple on the ECU campus.

“Tiger Tangles was originally a three-day event that sold out for every show. If you didn’t get a ticket a month before, you just didn’t get a ticket,” Godwin stated. “We’re bringing it back slowly for one night in our Ataloa Theatre on February 27th, so I want to encourage everyone to get your tickets early.”

General admission tickets are $5.
