SUMMER VICTIM ASSISTANCE ACADEMY LOOKING FOR FACULTY MEMBERS

Applications will be accepted until March 12 [FRIDAY] for faculty members to teach at the Oklahoma Victim Assistance Academy that will be held June 6-11 at East Central University in Ada.

The OVAA is a 40-hour, academic-based, foundation-level course of instruction in victim service issues designed for victim service providers, advocates, law enforcement, allied professionals and others who work with crime victims.

ECU STUDENTS COMPETE IN 'BORDER WARS' SPEECH, TOURNAMENT

Barbara Tiry of Skiatook, a freshman majoring in speech education at East Central University, outshone all other Oklahoma Poetry Interpreters at the recent Kansas Wesleyan University Border Wars speech and debate tournament. Her poetry presented a humorous look at love.

SHELBY SAYRE RECEIVES KELLOGG SCHOLARSHIP AT ECU

Shelby Sayre of Chandler, a freshman at East Central University, has been named the second recipient of the Don and Jane Kellogg Mathematics and Science Teaching Scholarship at ECU.

'BLUE EYES/BROWN EYES' CREATOR SPEAKING MARCH 10 AT ECU

Jane Elliott, the creator of the "Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes" exercise that illustrates prejudice and bigotry based upon purely arbitrary factors, will speak March 10 [WEDNESDAY] at East Central University.
