ADA – The Oklahoma Community Orchestra is taking the Ataloa Theatre stage at East Central University’s Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center on Saturday, February 22, at 7:30 p.m.

ADA – Internationally renowned soprano, Emily Pulley, will perform a concert on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in East Central University’s Ataloa Theatre, inside the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.

ECU STUDENTS PROVIDING TAX ASSISTANCE THROUGH VITA PROGRAM

ADA – East Central University and the Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business will once again participate in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.

VITA is a national program, supported by the Internal Revenue Service, designed to provide free tax assistance to individuals with basic tax returns, particularly those with low and fixed incomes. The returns in the VITA center will be e-filed. ECU students, along with other volunteers, will provide the service.

ECU TO HOST TRAVELING ART EXHIBITION, FEB. 18-MARCH 21

ADA – A traveling exhibition of work by living Oklahoma artists, called “24 Works on Paper”, will be open to the public on Feb. 18 at 8 a.m. at the Pogue Art Gallery in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center at East Central University.

The exhibition will run through March 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays at ECU.

ENTREPRENEUR, AUTHOR, HUMANITARIAN STOVALL TO SHARE PERSONAL, PROFESSIONAL STORY AT ECU ON FEB. 13

ADA – Jim Stovall, entrepreneur, author, humanitarian and nationally-recognized motivational speaker, will share his story in “Yes, You Can!” on Thursday, Feb. 13, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the ECU Foundation Hall inside the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center at East Central University.

Stovall will present an amazing personal and professional story for all ages. The event is free to all and sponsored by Harland and Shirley Stonecipher in association with the ECU Stonecipher School of Business.

ADA – If you loved to sing or hum to Conjunction Junction or Just a Bill, take a trip down memory lane and relive vintage Saturday morning children’s television programming as the East Central University production of Schoolhouse Rock Live! comes to the Ataloa Theatre stage in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center on Feb. 14-15 at 7:30 p.m.

ECU’S OKLAHOMA BUSINESS WEEK GARNERS SECOND AWARD

ADA – East Central University’s Oklahoma Business Week has garnered another award.

OBW, which introduces high school students to the business world in a week-long camp during the summer on the ECU campus, recently received the Association for Continuing Higher Education’s 2013 Distinguished Program: Non-Credit Award, in Lexington, Ky. Stacey Bolin, director of OBW, and Charlee Lanis, coordinator of ECU’s Community Education Program, were on hand to receive that honor.

DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS AND RECORDS/REGISTRAR PAMLA ARMSTRONG RETIRES AFTER 35 YEARS OF BEING INVOLVED AT ECU

ADA –East Central University has been Pamla Armstrong’s life for nearly 35 years as a student and career choice.

On Friday, Jan. 31, Armstrong stepped away from that portion of her life and into retirement as ECU’s Director of Admissions and Records/ Registrar.
