ADA, Okla. - “Over the River and Through the Woods” premieres at East Central University Oct. 5-7. The play will be held in the Chalmers Herman Theatre located in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center with a start time of 7:30 p.m.

A two-act play written by Joe DiPietro, “Over the River and Through the Woods,” introduces Nick, a 30-year-old ad executive living in New Jersey. Every Sunday he has dinner with both sets of his grandparents.

Through the course of several evenings, you will come to love this family as they deal with life's experiences and issues. In the end, it becomes obvious that everything boils down to family. Or as these Italian immigrants like to say, Tengo Familia.

Jamie Davis, Technical Director and Events Coordinator for ECU’s Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center, brings a cast of students together for the first ECU production of the semester. Cast includes John Kelso as Nick Cristano, Scout James as Frank Gianelli, Shelby Davis as Aida Gianelli, Clayton English as Nunzio Cristano, Lanie Green as Emma Cristano and Olivia Hunley as Caitlin O’Hare.

Davis will be serving as director and scenic designer with Holly Jenkins as stage manager and Logan Mackey as lighting designer.

“ECU has a proud history of great theatrical productions and this young cast is excited to continue that tradition,” said Davis. “This is a production that can and will sell out, with only 70 seats available per night, so buy your tickets now.”

General admission tickets are $10, senior tickets are $8 and tickets for children 12 and under are $5.

ECU students and employees receive free admission with their university ID.

Tickets can be purchased online at ecok.edu/hbffac-box-office, at the door or by calling 580-559-5751.
